In Sept 2024, Germany's BKA opened a criminal probe under insult laws (up to 1 year prison) against an anonymous Gab user for calling Green Party co-leader Ricarda Lang "fat." They demanded the user's full personal data from Gab, which refused on free speech grounds. The case remains open.
